WILD HAPPINESS RWANDA
Inspiring Well-Being Through Music, Culture, and Tourism.

Music of Virunga
We are collaborating with Greg Bakunzi and Red Rocks Initiative to collect songs inspired by the forest and wildlife.
These songs are part of the living cultural heritage of the Virunga Massif Ecosystem. Music is a cultural ecosystem service. Humans are an integral part of biodiversity.
This is an ongoing initiative to curate and share the music of the forest-cultural ecosystem.

One Nature Institute
2024 Wild Happiness Survey
CONTEXT
The Rwanda government is expanding the Volcanoes National Park! In a world witnessing massive destruction of Nature, this is a huge win for Nature! Local communities in Kinigi must move. Red Rocks is working to support the community and regenerate their economy!
Well-Being Baseline: Kinigi
November 2024

One Nature Institute conducted a Wild Happiness Survey working with local community researchers. The survey results will become the well-being baseline to create an inclusive strategy for wild happiness and human well-being.
When people flourish,
the wild is happy!
Biodiversity stewardship means more than protecting nature, because
cultures have always been a part of healthy and thriving wild places. When Local Communities thrive economically and socially in connection with the wild, people and nature feel happy!
Growing A Well-Being Economy
Well-Being For All Beings
The well-being of all beings - humans, animals, and ecosystems - is deeply interconnected.

Well-being economies are regenerative, resilient, and reciprocating. Growing well-being economies means learning how to nurture relationships between people and the natural world. Caring for humans means caring for our nature home - this is regenerative economics.
